Key Points for the Correct Use of GOLD FLEECE SHEEP DIP 608 mg/ml Concentrate for Dip Emulsion
Gold Fleece Dip is licenced for the prevention and treatment of blowfly strike, ticks, keds, lice and scab infestations on sheep.
Here are some key do's and don'ts of product use:

DO
always wear the correct PPE:
- Face Shield (when handling dip concentrate)
- Bib apron (over boiler suit) or waterproof coat (PVC or nitrile)
- Gloves (Non-lined or flock-lined, PVC or nitrile, heavy duty gauntlet style - 0.5 mm thick and at least 300 mm long)
- Waterproof leggings/trousers (PVC or nitrile to be worn outside your boots)
- Wellington boots
DO only dip when the sheep can be dry for 2-4 days after dipping.
DO follow manufacturer’s instructions for initial mixing rates and bath replenishment rates – you will need to know the size of your dip bath.
DO keep the sheep in the dip bath for a full minute and plunge the head under twice.
DO clean out and empty the dip bath at the end of each day; or before if the dip wash becomes dirty.
DO release sheep to a holding pen after dipping and provide them with drinking water.
DO only use Gold Fleece Dip in a plunge bath.
DO dip lambs separately from ewes and assist rams, fat or pregnant sheep in to and out of the bath.
DO ensure that you dip all sheep on your farm at the same time and that dipped sheep are not mixed with undipped sheep.
DO dispose of used dip wash using a licenced waste disposal contractor or apply for an authorisation via your local environmental agency.

DON'T
dip when the wool is wet or on a rainy day.
DO NOT dip sheep on a full stomach or when the sheep are hot, tired or thirsty.
DO NOT dip sheep suffering from open wounds or sores.
DO NOT smoke, eat or drink whilst dipping.
DO NOT add any other product to the dip bath.
DO NOT use a levamisole drench within 14 days of dipping.
DO NOT shear sheep for 3 months after dipping.
DO NOT use Gold Fleece Dip with a shower or jetter system.
DO NOT dip sheep with less than 1cm of fleece growth.
DO NOT dip more than 1 sheep per 2 litres of bath capacity before emptying, cleaning and refilling the bath.
